Experiencing Failure

These days it’s been quite difficult trying to balance everything like homework, tests, reading, and exercising. I’ve been really forgetful lately which has negatively impacted my grade a lot. I thought now that I’m a senior I don’t have to worry about my grades and I can just take it easy but I still want to maintain good habits for college!

The good thing is that I’ve been managing my time much more efficiently by quitting Instagram, restricting the time I watch Youtube, and making time tables for each day. It is a little more stress because it makes me feel like my time is limited, but I do get more things done per day. However, I’m pretty sure everyone has experienced a time when you put in a lot of effort and hard work but get a bad result. This has been happening to me lately.

I thought about how a part of my project is self-improvement. One of the best ways to improve is actually failing. You get the opportunity to look back on what you did wrong and build the strength to get back up. It’s definitely difficult when you fail because you feel unmotivated and discouraged, but experiencing these mistakes in high school in my senior year, where my grades don’t really matter anymore, is better than making this mistake in the future. I always thought that the quote “failure is the mother of success” was just a cliche phrase, but it actually helped me a bit. Although we don’t see any immediate benefits of failure there is more to learn than just succeeding. Our goal shouldn’t be to succeed, but to learn; and from learning, reflecting, and improving ourselves, success may come naturally.

To make this blog even more cheesy, I’ll include a quote!

“Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more efficiently”

- Henry Ford
